Which course is for me?

Pick your sewing course

Both run for 4 weeks, one 2-hour session a week, in a small group of up to 6 at our studio in Caerphilly. Here's everything you need to know before you book.

Beginner

4 Week Beginner Sewing Course

£200 for all 4 weeks

Intermediate

4 Week Intermediate Sewing Course

£240 for all 4 weeks

  • Who it's forYou've used a sewing machine before and want to make something to wear.
  • You'll makeYour own dress, made from jeans and fitted to you, whatever your size.
  • You'll learn
    • Stitching and construction techniques
    • Following a pattern step by step
    • Fitting a garment to your shape
    • Repairing and reworking clothes you already own

What's included

A tutor guiding you from your first stitch, sewing machines and all the tools to use, a small group of up to 6, and a catch-up week if you miss a session.

What to bring

Your fabric: an old pair of jeans works perfectly, or you can buy materials in the studio. Materials aren't included in the price. You're welcome to bring your own machine if you'd rather learn on it.

One-off classes

Can't commit to a course?

Try a one-off class instead. Pick a date, make something in an afternoon or evening, and take it home with you.

Sewing courses: your questions

  • Not for our beginner course! This is a beginner-friendly sewing course, and our tutor will support you step-by-step so you feel confident from your very first session. Our intermediate course is for more experienced sewers who have used a machine before.

  • If you've never used a sewing machine, start with the Beginner course. If you can already sew a straight seam and want to make clothes, go for Intermediate. Still unsure? Get in touch and we'll help you pick.

  • Either or, whatever you would prefer to learn from. You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine, but if not, we will have machines provided.

  • You’ll complete a wearable denim bag or dress made from jeans, depending on the course level. You’ll leave with skills to repair, rewear and create your own clothing at home.

  • Each week focuses on a new skill, with plenty of hands-on guidance. You’ll learn in a relaxed, supportive group where everyone progresses together at their own pace.

  • As part of the courses, we have sewing machines and tools available to use. Materials aren't included as part of the course price. You can either bring your own or purchase some in-store.

  • Absolutely! Our tutor is on hand throughout each session to guide you, answer questions and give individual support whenever you need it. We've got an extra week for anyone that may need some extra time - so it's less pressure for you💖

  • Up to 6, so our tutor has time for everyone. The course cards above show how many places are left on the next one.

  • At our studio: Unit 31B, Sir Alfred Owen Way, Caerphilly CF83 3HU. Look for the pink sign behind the silver fence near Howdens. We're not in Douglas House. You can park down the lane or anywhere on the industrial estate.

  • If you miss a session, there's a catch-up week at the end. If you can't come at all, please give us at least 48 hours' notice: places on our 4-week courses are limited and planned in advance. The details are in our refund policy.
